During a presentation last year Intel presented one CPU clocked at 5GHz in all nuclei. Today he carries out the plans of that presentation that promises their frequency 5GHz in any scenario.
Ο processor will be named i9-9900KS will have 8 cores and will be clocked at 5.0GHz during both single and multi-core operations.
The demo Intel unveiled last year was essentially a 28-core Xeon processor overclocked at this speed. There was a lot of talk at the time that Intel was using a sub-zero cooler to achieve this result, but without having stated it anywhere.
The base frequency of the CPU is 4.0GHz, however to reach this frequency it must use by default Intel BIOS. Note that no motherboard uses the basic BIOS specifications.
The processor will also be available to i9-9900K owners as it uses the same socket (1151). It also has the same built-in graphics as the 9900K. Let's not lie though, is there anyone out there who would take such a "monster" to use with on-board graphics?
TDP, release date and price remain unknown but some information may be revealed at Computex by Intel Senior Vice President and General Mills.
