Η AMD and the Micro Center they announced a limited release of the processor AMD Ryzen 5 5600X3D – a variation of Ryzen 5 5600X but with technology 3D V-Cache
The Ryzen 5 5600X3D, as well as the itself 5600 times basically a CPU with 2 defective cores that weren't good enough to be marketed as a 5800X3D. This means that instead of eight functional CPU cores, the 5600X has just six. However, it still has the full ones 96MB of L3 cache, which made the 5800X3D such a fantastic gaming CPU.
AMD's new 5600X3D CPU has a base clock frequency of 3.3GHz and clock frequency Boost to 4.4GHz, i.e. a reduction of 400MHz and 200MHz respectively compared to the standard 5600X. The L2 cache remains at 3MB, but the L3 cache goes from the 32MB to 96MB by using stacked 3D V-Cache above the CPU die. The TDP (which is not the actual power consumed) has gone from 65W to 105. As with the 5800X3D, the new 5600X3D also cannot be overclocked.
Since these CPUs are essentially the 5800X3D chips that did not pass AMD's Quality Test, there is not much stock of these CPUs, and therefore, AMD will only market them at its stores Micro Center in America. This means that the 5600X3D will only be available in the US and only in its stores Micro Center, of which there are currently only 25 pieces in stock.
If some of you are expecting to see the 5600X3D in Europe, just forget it. AMD will make these in exclusive partnership with Micro Center in the US, and it's expected that the 5600X3D will only be available for 3-6 months before stocks run out.
As a reminder, the 5600X3D, like all other 5000 series processors, is based on AMD's old AM4 platform, which has already been replaced by AM5, and the 5600X3D will be available in the US from July 7 with price at 230 dollars.
