After its release MIUI 14 , unfortunately for some users, they will have to wait for the  Xiaomi or Redmi Their devices will be one step closer in the EoL (on End of Life), especially if they are quite old.

The term EOL (end of life) or EOS (End Of Support) used for a smartphone that officially will no longer receive updates, neither for Xiaomi's MIUI operating system, nor for the upgrade to new Android versions.

So, after the unofficial lists we saw several days ago, now we have it for you official list published by Xiaomi itself, for all smartphones that will no longer receive updates on Android, but also security code updates.

What does the EOS list from Xiaomi mean?

If you have a Xiaomi device included in the list EOS by Xiaomi, you will no longer receive new updates from the company. This includes the security updates from Google, so it is important to be aware of the risks of using an old device. While Xiaomi devices are generally very secure, older devices may be more vulnerable to malware. Therefore, if you have a Xiaomi device that is on Xiaomi's EOS list, we recommend upgrading to a newer model.

Your device has not been updated to MIUI 14 but has definitely been updated to MIUI 13.

Try doing what describes the following article and it could help you get the most recent ROM

It is a matter of days for the MIUI 14 ROM to be released for the Redmi Note 9 as well, as all the other devices in the Redmi Note 14 series have already received the MIUI 9

Michael, basically the RedMi 9 & Redmi Note 9 line has entered EON/EOL status which means it is towards the end of support for upgrades.

From what I see, the latest versions that have been released on MIUI 13 (Android 12) are…

EEA/EU ROM >> miui_LIMEEEAGlobal_V13.0.1.0.SJQEUXM_789f44b99a_12.0.zip
Global ROM >> miui_LIMEGlobal_V13.0.2.0.SJQMIXM_06b44f7aa8_12.0.zip

But there is a possibility that the device will get MIUI 14 which will be the last upgrade for the device.
If you've been stuck on Android 11, something else has happened as the above updates to Android 12 are available from December 2022.
