Download: Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A receive their first alpha Android 9 Pie

Η Xiaomi does not seem to have completely abandoned the two Redmi devices, and as we have learned the first ones are ready alpha-BETA ROM with Android Pie for RedMi 6 / 6A.

OXiaomi entry-level devices, the Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A, were released last year based on MIUI 9.1 and Android 8.1 Oreo, and while later upgraded to MIUI 10, they continued to be based on Oreo.

While this is exciting news for device owners, the process of downloading Android Pie on Redmi 6 / 6A can be risky.

These new ROMs are for testing, and are in the early stages of development. This also means that they may have many errors and your device may be unstable after the upgrade.

We recommend that you avoid upgrading to this early distribution if you use the Redmi 6 or Redmi 6A as your daily device. Additionally, if you upgrade your device to this new ROM, and for some reason you want to go back to an old ROM, there is still no clear way to do this safely.

While MIUI 10 is visually the same, whether based on Android Oreo or Pie, the update adds a useful feature in the form of Dark mode.

If you're still willing to try this new ROM, you can upgrade to these MIUI 10 ROMs based on Android Pie using the Fastboot feature with Mi Flash.

Remember that they do not is Recovery ROMs, and cannot be installed via TWRP Recovery or the MIUI upgrade application.

Installing these ROMs on the Redmi 6 / 6A is a risk, so avoid it if you are not familiar with the procedures required.
