Late last night NVIDIA responded to the problems faced by many owners of RTX 3080 GPUs in its official forums.
Τthe text confirms the problems that exist in the new graphics cards and concern both custom designs from many manufacturers and Founders Edition which show corresponding problems, with the most important being the abrupt closure of the 3D application and the return to the desktop.
These crashing effects seem to be limited to some when they reduce the frequency of kernel operation leading some to conclude that it is a structural error, or inadequate power supply, among others.
Along with her announcement NVIDIA the company also has a new driver (Driver Version: 456.55) which improves the stability of the cards, while regarding the graphics cards of its partners, NVIDIA states that it is in constant cooperation during the development. As for capacitors, NVIDIA states that they are not always an indication of a quality product and differ from design to design.
The new driver seems to be fixing some of the problems of the GPUs while we do not know at the moment the changes it makes and whether they are related to the operating frequency of the kernel.
