Η Intel proceeded to unveil the new 10th generation processors Intel Core Comet Lake, which are intended laptops and 2-in-1 tablets.
ΤThe new chipsets are divided into two categories U Series and Y Series, both built in 14nm scale with the promise of better performance, improved graphics and support for modern connectivity technologies.
Intel Comet Lake U - Series
The most powerful category of processors is intended for use on laptops and according to Intel will offer a 16% increase in efficiency combined with lower energy consumption compared to their predecessors.
Available versions offer up to 6 cores and 12 threads, up to 12MB low-latency cache, maximum timing up to 4.9GHz, support for up to 4 Thunderbolt 3 sockets (USB Type-C), support for DDR4-2666MHz RAM and support for WiFi 6 (WiFi 802.11ax). TDP starts at 7W and reaches 15W, but manufacturers can configure new processors up to 25W

- Intel Core i3-10110U - 2-cores, 4-threads | 4MB Cache | 2.1GHz base / 4.1GHz boost
Intel Comet Lake Y - Series
This series is intended for use on ultra-thin laptops and 2-in-1 tablets whose main goal is maximum portability (constructions that do not include a fan for their cooling) despite the processing power. This is the first time we see a quad-core processor that can be used in fanless design, as TDP "goes down" to 4.5W levels.
In terms of performance, Intel reports that cores are clocked at low frequencies, but it is possible to reach 4GHz levels in one of their cores to enhance processing. In no case, however, will they reach the performance levels of the U-Series.

The new Intel Comet Lake is expected to be used on more than 90 laptops and 2-in-1 tablets by the end of 2019.
