Alder Lake: Specs of Intel 12th generation Core processors leaked

Η Intel prepares its release 12th generation (Alder Lake) processors Core for the second half of 2021 and as everything shows, the specs of three processors in the series leaked.

Οprocessors Alder lake will incorporate a hybrid architecture from Intel that includes high-performance cores (Golden Cove) as well as low-consumption cores (Gracemont).

As they emphasize sources from VideoCardz, the specs of these processors actually lead us to a hybrid architecture that we started hearing a few years ago from the company itself, but the leak probably comes from qualification samples (the so-called QS samples) given to its direct partners, with the first motherboard vendors. The specs that appeared should not be considered final, since the manufacturers sometimes make small last minute changes to the parts.

The three chips that appeared are unlocked K-series processors and include the Core i9-12900K, the Core i7-12700K and the Core i5-12600K. In the specs we see the information P-Core and E-Core and refers to performance and efficiency cores respectively.

Core i9-12900K

  • P-Core 1-2C 5.3GHz / 8C 5.0GHz
  • E-Core 1-4C 3.9GHz / 8C 3.7GHz
  • 30MB L3 Cache
  • PL1 = 125W / PL2 = 228W

Core i7-12700K

  • P-Core 1-2C 5.0GHz / 8C 4.7GHz
  • E-Core 1-2C 3.8GHz / 4C 3.6GHz
  • 25MB L3 Cache
  • PL1 = 125W / PL2 = 228W

Core i5-12600K

  • P-Core 1-2C 4.9GHz / 6C 4.5GHz
  • E-Core 1-2C 3.6GHz / 4C 3.4GHz
  • 20MB L3 Cache
  • PL1 = 125W / PL2 = 228W

Ο Core i9 is the only chip with 16 cores while the Core i7 supplied with 12 cores and Core i5 with 10 cores and of course, all of this is a big evolution from the only 8 cores we encountered in Rocket lake. Among other things, the timings seem to be raised by the existing generation of processors, which increases the hype among the enthusiasts who are waiting for the answer of Intel in the field.

The Alder Lace are expected for many reasons, in addition to the increased performance for which they are rumored. One of them is their new lithography 10nm Enhanced SuperFin as well as its use Intel Xe Gen 12.2 GPU in the company of the new LGA 1700 socket which we expect to bring upside down and on the supported motherboards that will be placed.

Intel will also find an opportunity to integrate in the platform Ms.i DDR5 memory controllers inside, while CPUs are said to utilize the newer standard PCI Express 5.0 interface as the means of communication with additional expansion cards. All this looks very nice "on paper" and it remains to be seen exactly when their release is.

Her papers Intel remain closed on the issue, while as it became known a few hours ago the giant has aspirations to acquire GlobalFoundries, a company that manufactures chips for AMD directly related to the one starting from the previous decade - but this potential takeover will bring the Intel one step closer to her big rival, the AMD.
