GeForce RTX Super: The new Nvidia graphics cards have arrived.

Η Nvidia renews the High-End series with the new ones RTX Super versions of RTX 2060, 2070, 2080 and offers better performance for the same money, while withdrawing some of the old models.

ΠNvidia recently unveiled three new graphics cards called the GeForce RTX Super. These include GeForce RTX 2060 Super, RTX 1070 Super and RTX 2080 Super in an effort to offer the best possible performance at every level of the RTX series.

Until now, Nvidia was playing solo in the upper echelons of the market, but with the announcement of the new RX cards from AMD, the company wanted to consolidate its dominance with a lightning launch. The result is that the 2070 and 2080 cards are completely replaced in less than a year from their release.

Here is the spec-sheet of the new cards for a quick look but we must emphasize that this is not fully representative of their true performance.

With this release things get a little confusing in the lineup of RTX cards. So we still have the RTX 2060 as the cheapest RTX solution followed by the RTX 2060 Super with better performance by 22% and a necessary upgrade from 6 GB GDDR6 memory to 8GB. The RTX 2070 Super is 24% faster than the 2070 while maintaining the same price. The 2080 Super is perhaps the most interesting addition as it has higher performance than the RTX 2080 and Titan XP, while it comes with an upgraded memory speed of 15.5Gbps.

The price of the RTX 2080 Super is quite tempting, especially considering that it is $ 300 cheaper than the 2080 Ti at $ 699. More specifically, the card offers 3.072 CUDA cores, 48 RT cores, 384 Tensor cores and 192 Texture Units. The basic timing will be at 1650 MHz while with Boost it will reach 1.815MHz and will have 8GB GDDR6 memory at 256-bit.

The exact pricing of the entire updated RTX series is as follows:

  • GeForce RTX 2080 Ti - $999
  • GeForce RTX 2080 Super - $699
  • GeForce RTX 2070 Super - $499
  • GeForce RTX 2060 Super - $399
  • GeForce RTX 2060 - $349

While the RTX 2060 remains on Nvidia's list, the Super version is a much better alternative considering the performance jump it wins at just $ 50. After all, the Super version covers the biggest disadvantage of the RTX 2060 which greatly limited the performance in both traditional gaming and Ray Tracing environment, memory.

This price gap will be filled on July 9 when Nvidia will offer Bundles with free copies of Wolfenstein: YoungBlood and Control when one buys an RTX 2060 Super, 2070 Super or 2080 Super card. An offer that Nvidia costs at $ 90.
