Last Wednesday (06/07) the amendment to a bill of the Ministry of the Interior was submitted, which, among other things, provides for the creation of a special electronic application for mobile devices
Αthis special application will function as a digital repository of identification documents of natural persons (data storage) related to identity card and to vehicle driver's license, as the case may be, with the aim of identifying them to the competent bodies of the public sector or the private sector.
In practical terms, this means opening the way for him to enter one digital wallet which will be available as eapp to "download" from Google Play and App Store, the police identity card and the driver's license, so that Greek citizens have them in digital form.
As stated in the text of the amendment, the data that will be stored in the said application will be able to the owner of the mobile phone "to show them, for the purpose of identification, to public sector bodies in the sense of approx. paragraph 14 of article 4270 of Law 2014/143 (A'XNUMX), judicial authorities and natural and legal persons of the private sector, who are authorized for identity verification and identification, in the context of exercising their respective powers and fulfilling their respective obligations».
Specializing the data that will be stored in digital form for the IDs will be:
- The identity number,
- The name in Greek and Latin characters,
- The patronymic in Greek and Latin characters,
- The matronym in Greek characters,
- date of birth,
- The place of birth,
- The date and authority of issuance of the identity card and
- The photo of the owner
For the driver's license
- The driver's license number,
- The name in Greek and Latin characters,
- date of birth,
- The place of birth,
- The date and authority of issuance of the driver's license,
- The date of expiry of the driving license,
- The tax registration number (A.F.M.),
- The vehicle category code,
- The date of issue of the vehicle category,
- The vehicle class expiry date and
- The photo of the owner.
It is also noted that "the storage of the above data cannot be carried out on more than one mobile device of the natural person».
