However, according to a leak of documents intended for internal information, the first details of the new user experience they will offer and how they will be made available for laptops are revealed.
According to these documents, the new Start menu of Windows 10X will be called "Launcher", which reminds us of the language used in Android devices. The new launcher will have a search bar that searches both locally, within the device, but also on OneDrive. Below the bar is the grid with the installed applications and web pages, which will be displayed together, whether installed locally or in the cloud, giving the user a smooth user experience without confusing him.
In addition, there will be a new Action Center and a new Quick Actions design, which will include several elements regarding the system. In the visual field, notifications will be displayed separately from the Quick Actions area despite the fact that they can be accessed from the same point on the taskbar, which can be modified and placed in the center of the screen or on the left side, as is done in Windows 10.
As for the applications that will be installed by default in Windows 10X, these include Microsoft Edge, MailCalendar, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Microsoft To Do, Microsoft Whiteboard, Microsoft Teams, Photos, Microsoft Store, UWP File Explorer, Spotify, Netflix, Camera, Solitaire, Calculator, Alarms & Clock, Movies & TV, Sticky Notes, Weather, Paint, Notepad, Snip & Sketch, Voice Recorder, Groove Music, People, Feedback Hub, Media Plans and Messaging.
This list may not be the final one, as applications such as Your Phone and Skype are absent, at least for now. It should also be noted that Microsoft Office applications come pre-installed and configured for Windows 10X, but users will be able to download Win32 versions of Office if needed.
There will be changes to File Explorer and the login screen interface, and overall, the leak of these documents gives a first-hand idea of how Microsoft intends to position itself with Windows 10X when it launches, which will initially done on dual-screen devices, with the versions for laptops to follow.
