Accurate measurements for levels electromagnetic radiation in their area will be able to carry out three other Municipalities of our country, after the signing of relevant cooperation agreements with the National Atomic Energy Commission (GAEC).
ΣIn the framework of the agreement signed on the initiative of the General Secretariat of Telecommunications and Posts (GGTT) of the Ministry of Digital Government, GAEC makes available to the Municipalities of Alimos, Agia Paraskevi and Katerini a mobile unit for measuring electromagnetic radiation, radiation and .
The agreement stipulates, among other things, that GAEC will provide the required know-how to each of the three Municipalities for the use of mobile metering stations, while it also provides for the training of employees who will be nominated by the Municipalities for the operation of these units.
The results of the measurements to be carried out by the mobile units will be published in the National Observatory of Electromagnetic Fields, which is already operating by GAEC at https://paratiritirioemf.eeae.gr.
The three units delivered today are part of a broader program to measure electromagnetic radiation levels, under which GAEC had procured 13 vehicles with the appropriate equipment. Mobile units of measurement have been granted in the context of previous initiatives in the Municipalities of Kalamata, Zografou, Trikala and Penteli.
The Ministry of Digital Government stands as an assistant to the authorized bodies such as the GAEC that monitors the levels of electromagnetic radiation on a permanent basis and records the relevant results in the National Observatory of Electromagnetic Fields for the valid information of the citizens. At the same time, it encourages the cooperation of GAEC with the Local Government in view of the development of 5G networks in our country.
