According to information on the website WinFuture η Qualcomm has already developed a faster version of the Snapdragon 8180X.
Αand Snapdragon processors are already on several laptops with operating system Windows 10, the difference in performance compared to models using Intel processors is quite large, mainly due to their ARM architecture.
Despite Microsoft's efforts and cooperation with Qualcomm in the development and promotion of ARM machines, the buying public does not seem to respond positively. But the company seems determined to increase its market share of PCs, creating an even more powerful processor for ARM machines.
According to information from the Winfuture website the Qualcomm has already developed a faster version of the Snapdragon 8180X, but not the successor. The SC8180XP is the Plus version of the 8180X, with its four core cores running at 3.15Ghz, as opposed to the 2.84GHz of the original SoC. Also, the SoC graphics card is overclocked, now reaching 718MHz.
The four low-performance cores remain at 1.80GHz, something we expected for a balance between power and autonomy. The biggest problem right now with the ARM architecture in Windows 10 is the emulation needed to run x64 applications, as it needs a lot of processing power.
However, with Microsoft working closely with Qualcomm on the Windows 10 project and Apple announcing that it is preparing its own SoC for Mac, things do not look so good for Intel. Everything will be judged in 2021, where Apple will enter the game of chips, to see if the future really is in the ARM architecture.
