With rise closed 2018 in terms of sales of technology consumer products as well as offers during Black Friday but also of Christmas holidays gave impetus to this market.
Όas regards preferences of Greek consumers, the smartphones and all kinds "white» Appliances (refrigerators, washing machines, kitchens, etc.) seemed to have their place of honor last year.
According to research data GfK Temax, the market value of consumer technology products was formed in 2018 at 2,185 billion, showing an increase of 5,4% compared to 2017. One of the reasons was the high sales of the fourth quarter (+ 4,9% to 684 million euros) thanks to Black Friday and the Christmas markets. It is noteworthy that in the last quarter of 2018 almost all sub-product categories presented positive sign.
The product category with higher salesremained that of telecommunications products with 666 million euros in the whole year (+ 9,5%) and 27 million euros (+ 5,9%) in the last quarter. The smartphonesmoved upwards as well as several of the accessories (headphones, wearables etc.).
The second largest category was that of large home appliances which in total in 2018 amounted to 480 million euros (+ 5,8%), while the fourth quarter was quite strong with 130 million euros and an increase of 8,1%. Among the high-rise products were kitchens and dryers.
The previous second category of IT products saw sales increase to 475 million euros for the year as a whole and to 158 million euros for the fourth quarter, but the increase was of 2% and 3,1% respectively.
Their market also moved quite well major technology products such as televisions, whose sales increased by 2% overall in the year and by 5,8% at the end of 2018 with a value of 347 million euros and 121 million euros respectively.
