Η special platform is expected to be ready at mid-June and it will be very simple to use - Households will see in their accounts the amount of the refund within the same month The amount, up to 600 euro, will be tax free and unseized

Μthrough a special platform that will be created in collaboration with him Ministry of Digital Policy and AADE, and which is expected to be ready in mid - June, will be the expression of interest for restitution Of the cost current consumers.

If the entry in the relevant platform will be done with taxisnet data, ie with the use VAT, the beneficiary should declare banking IBAN.

The beneficiary will not need to enter electricity bills, as this will be done automatically by the electricity providers, as long as the main residence has been declared in E1.

The details of the main residence will be drawn directly from AADE, as well as the relative number of the current clock. The beneficiary will certify this information, or will update it in case the main residence has changed.

Η credit of the grant will be made directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries in the IBAN bank that will have been declared in the relevant form.

The cost refund amount will be tax-free and unseized, while it will not be associated with any debts to the provider, once they have been settled.

Electricity cost reimbursement mechanism for household consumers

Returns the 60% of the increased electricity costs charged to household consumers on behalf of their main residence, issued by 1 December 2021 to 31 May 2022. It concerns home consumers for charges of their main residence, which have not been covered by the discounts given through the electricity bills, either by the state or by the providers.

The subsidy covers households-tax residents of Greece, with declared family income up to 45.000 euros. The subsidy will be given to the consumer's IBAN account.

The return is given to those who paid a total increase of electricity in the six months over 30 euros and can not exceed 600 euros per consumer.

A necessary condition for receiving the aid is expression of interest in a relevant platform that will be created for this purpose in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Policy and AADE. The data of the main residence will be obtained from AADE, as well as the relevant number of the electricity clock and the beneficiary will certify these data or will update them in case the main residence has changed. Then the data of the electricity bills for each clock will be drawn from the electricity providers.

The refund amount is calculated per month according to the following mathematical formula:

Refund amount = [Account increase amount due to adjustment clause - State deduction amount on the adjustment clause - Provider deduction amount on the adjustment clause] * 60%.

It is estimated that for the reporting period of the subsidy, household consumers for their first home have been subsidized with 755 million, while they themselves have borne additional costs 464 million. The cost to the state budget is therefore estimated at around € 280 million.

Examples: Subsidy for last semester's charges

  • half-yearly accounts with an adjustment clause of 200 euros per month = 1.200 euros. the consumer received a subsidy eg 200 euros from the state and a discount of 100 euros from the provider. So he paid 900 euros out of his own pocket. His state covers 540 euros
  • if it was charged as a "clause" eg 3.000 euros and had already received a subsidy and a discount of 1.000 euros, then for the 2.000 euros he paid he will receive 600 euros and not 1.200 which was the maximum
  • if in 6 months he had only a surcharge of 10 euros, will not collect the 6 euros corresponding to 60%, because it is below the minimum limit of 18 euros.

Examples for May-June as presented by the Minister of Energy Costas Skrekas:

• Household tariff with consumption of 300 kWh per month. Without a subsidy he would pay 100 euros for electricity and with a subsidy of 43,5 euros - a 56,5% discount on the energy bill.
• Household tariff with consumption of 400 kWh per month. Without subsidy he would pay 129,2 euros and with the subsidy 63,6 euros - 51% discount.
• For consumption of 600 kWh, consumers will pay with the subsidy 108,2 euros while without subsidy they would pay 193,8 euros - 44% discount.

From July onwards, horizontal subsidy of electricity "at the source" until the retail price is stabilized at 15-20 minutes per kilowatt hour.
