Today a video was released that shows us the incredible abilities that it has SU7 by Xiaomi on automatic – autonomous parking

A few days before the arrival of 2024, Xiaomi wanted to shake up the world of the electric car industry, and officially launched in China its first EV car by name SU7.

Xiaomi's official entry into the purchase of EV vehicles had been announced a long time ago, and the SU7 introduces five key innovations that the Chinese tech giant has been working on in recent years.

Today a video was released that shows us the incredible abilities of the car in automatic – autonomous parking. In the video you will see below, as you will notice the driver leaves the car alone at the entrance of a multi-storey car park and it will immediately start its Solo course on various floors of the building until it finds a suitable place to park.

In fact, on the route he takes, he meets another car in front of him, forcing it to backtrack to clear the way, and he continues his course unhindered between and away from the people he finds in front of him, adjusting his speed accordingly to the conditions he finds in the area which moves.

All of the above shows how much Xiaomi has developed the Ai software of autonomous driving and parking, confirming in the best way the company's ambition to become in a few years one of the best top 5 manufacturers in the world, surpassing (why not) even and Tesla.

But let's recall below all the features and specifications that Xiaomi's SU7 has.

In conjunction with his announcement HyperOS made in China last month, the SU7 uses Xiaomi's new operating system, integrating the vehicle with other Xiaomi products to form a unified ecosystem.

Its incorporation HyperOS on SU7 is part of the intelligent operation of the cabin, and the Xiaomi he claims that using the EV will be as easy as using a smartphone, and users don't have to worry about the proper operation of the car and the handling of all the smart functions that the vehicle will have.

In his heart SU7 the electric motor is located Xiaomi's HyperEngine, which is available in three configurations. At launch, the SU7 will be available with V6/V6s engines that will run up to 21000rpm.

The higher-performance engine equivalent to a similar V8 is expected to enter production by 2025, while Xiaomi is working on an even more powerful HyperEngine engine with carbon fiber, which can reach up to 35000 rpm. – at much higher revs and efficiency than most engines in production from other manufacturers to date.

For the battery, Xiaomi prides itself on the technology CTB, which has a thickness of only 120 mm and has a compact design that also reduces the amount of wiring required. The battery itself is one cell from CATL at 101kWh which Xiaomi claims provides up to 800km of range in the Max version. The basic version has a range of up to 668 km and uses a BYD cell at 73,6 kWh.

Similar to Tesla, Xiaomi uses the die casting method to manufacture the components and panel that the SU7 has. Xiaomi's casting process it is called Hypercasting, and is a 72-in-1 integrated casting that reduces welded joints to 840 and simplifies the overall vehicle structure. Despite its simplified design, Xiaomi is confident in the durability of Hypercasting that reaches up to 2 million kilometers.

In terms of performance, Xiaomi uses the best individual components in the SU7, which include Brembo and Bosch brakes. The vehicle also has advanced features such as the adaptive ride control system, but also quick acceleration that reaches 0-100km/h in just 2,78 seconds in the model Max.

At launch, there will be two models available on the Chinese market: H standard version of the SU7 that will have a single engine and will be rear-wheel drive, while Max version will have dual engines and all-wheel drive system.

The dual motor design of the Max version gives twice the power compared to the standard version of the SU7, while at the same time increasing the range.

Xiaomi's new electric cars will be produced by a plant of its own BAIC Group in a Beijing factory, with annual production capacity of 200.000 vehicles.

As the CEO of Xiaomi emphasizes, Lei Jun, in a post he made on X (Twitter), his ambition is for SU7 to be “a dream car, which is directly comparable to the Porsche and Tesla».

As he states in his statement:

Working hard next time 15 to 20 years, we will become one of the Top 5 car manufacturers in the world, striving to elevate China's overall automotive industry.
