ΤSocial media is turning a generation of children into liars, experts warn, according to the British newspaper "Daily Mail".
Young people are trying to project a perfect self-image through social networking sites by adopting their fake self in real life, according to Sue Hicks, head of the British Women 's Association (GSA) in Bolton for eight years.
"Teenagers need to learn the importance of projecting their true selves instead of telling 'convenient lies' in order to go further in their careers.", says the head of the British Union and adds:
"Teenagers tend to promote an imaginary image of themselves on social media as well as on photo sharing platforms, Instagram and Snapchat. They tend to cover up any imperfections in their character with the risk that this behavior will affect other aspects of their lives. But if they get used to displaying a certain image of themselves on social media, they may begin to believe that it is completely in line with reality. ", states the British newspaper.
"People certainly need to improve, they obviously want to show their best, which is good. But they should not be ashamed of any part of their lives. ", points out.
