Meta today announced the addition of some pretty useful new features to its Facebook Messenger app.
Now, users can send photos in HD resolution through Messenger.
This function is very simple as the user selects the photo he wants to send and then activates it HD option that appears before shipping.
Sending photos in HD resolution is a feature that recently appeared on WhatsApp by Meta, so it made perfect sense that sooner or later it would also come to Messenger. From now on, photos with HD resolution will have one “HD” tag in the upper right corner.
One of the other new features added is the creation of shared albums between friends and family with the ability to add videos and photos.
To create such an album, the user in a group chat can select multiple photos and then tap “Create Album” (or tap and hold on a photo and then tap Create Album). It is also possible to add photos and videos to already existing albums with the “Add to album” option.
Everyone in the group chat has full access to these shared albums and can view, add, delete, and download all the photos and videos that belong to them. This feature is expected to be available within the next few weeks.
Now it is also possible to add users to Messenger via QR code. All users have QR code and they can share it with others, through a link.
Finally, the last feature has to do with file upload size. The new limit reaches the 100MB and several well-known file formats are supported such as PDF, Word, Excel and ZIP.
