Google: End titles for the ethics board

Google did not do well to set up an external ethics council on artificial intelligence and announced that it was abolishing it.

ΤThe eight-member Advanced Technology External Advisory Council (ATEAC), set up on March 26, was made up of university professors, former government officials and other emerging emerging technology experts.

Immediately after its creation, the council "stumbled" on disagreements over the participation of two of its members, according to Reuters and the Guardian, citing the APE-MPE.

More than 2.300 employees Google as well as other non-company celebrities, signed a text calling for the removal of Republican Kay Coles James, who is chair of the Heritage Foundation's conservative think tank. She is also known for her ties to President Trump, as well as her anti-LGBTQI views.

It was preceded by the resignation of another board member, Alessandro Aquisti, a privacy expert.

"It is clear that under the current circumstances the council can not function as we would like. "So we're going to remove it and get back to the design table," said a Google spokesman.

Google employees are increasingly active and unionized and willing to intervene in the course of the company, protesting against various administrative decisions that they consider unacceptable.
