IDC: The mobile market in Europe remains stable for the first quarter of 2019

The mobile market in the area EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) reached them 83,7 million. in sales at first quarter of 2019, according to the reputable analysis company IDC.

Ο  This number is an expected drop, as already predicted, by Present in several = 3,3%. Unfortunately, the total value of the devices is the one that fell the most sharply as it reached 26,78 billion. dollars, approx Present in several = 10% down compared to last year.

Specifically in Europe, the changes were small compared with last year. Average sales prices in Western Europe declined slightly, with central and eastern Europe to maintain the value of the device compared to the same period last year.

Η Huawei continued with its relative rise, as did Xiaomi, while Apple, is the big loser, as it saw its share shrink by 23% to its lowest for the first quarter in Europe in five years.

Chinese companies reached 36,8 of the total, marking an increase compared to Present in several = 32,8% that they had last year, confirming the trends. THE Samsung and managed to gain 4 whole points in relation to the fourth quarter of 2018.

"The market is changing in relatively predictable ways", Notes the IDC analyst, Marta Pinto. "Shipments are declining as users hold on to their devices for longer, with Apple struggling with its latest phones and Chinese manufacturers making steady progress every quarter."

It will not be easy to see the sequel though, according to company analysts. Joining the US "black list" for Huawei raises many questions and uncertainty in the geopolitical setting does not help to form an image.

Europe saw the launch of the first 5G network in Switzerland in April, followed by networks in the United Kingdom. But it will take time to see 5G devices occupy a significant market share. Experts expect that the penetration will be slower than 4G managed.

Although the premium 5G devices will be available throughout Europe By the end of the year, the wide availability of 4G networks will make it harder for providers to convince consumers of the benefits of 5G networks.
