An innovative system that automatically stops the bus when it detects a problem of the driver on the highway, the company has developed Hino Motors, will be installed for the first time in commercial vehicles.
ΥThere are several road accidents in Japan caused by the sudden loss of consciousness of the driver while driving.
The system uses an infrared camera that monitors the driver in the event of a fall or blindness. In addition, the bus will stop automatically if the camera sees it coming out of the lane. When the vehicle starts to decelerate, the brake lights flash and the horn is activated to alert the surrounding area that there is a problem.
According to the company, it is the first in the world to incorporate these features in commercial vehicles, such as buses, as reported by NHK.
