ΦTesting for the Snapdragon 8150 processor seems to have started since it appeared on Geekbench, with the first tests showing improved performance over the Snapdragon 845 but no better than the A12 Bionic, at least for now.
It should be noted that since the Snapdragon 8150 is not available on any device on the market and has not been announced by Qualcomm, the versions that have appeared and will appear in various benchmarks will be a sample of its capabilities. This is because the processor is not in its final version, so the results may be different from those that will appear in future tests.
Qualcomm's new processor is expected to be based on the 7nm architecture, Kryo cores and will have a 2 + 2 + 4 instead of 4 + 4 layout, with two cores for high performance, two for constant speeds and four for managing less demanding processes so as not to consume large amounts of energy and increase the autonomy of the device.
Geekbench results show improved performance over the Snapdragon 845, scoring 3181 points in the single-core and 10084 points in the multi-core test, lower than the A12 Bionic on the iPhone Xs Max with 4777 and 11432 points respectively. As already mentioned, we are dealing with the first tests of the Snapdragon 8150 so it may not be timed at the highest frequencies to be able to perform at its maximum and we will have to wait to see the tests when the processor is officially released on a smartphone.
