We heard rumors that the Nintendo works on two new models Switch and how a smaller Switch would be released in the fall. None of this is out of the question.
ΤThere have been a lot of rumors on the internet lately that Nintendo was preparing a new smaller version of the Switch. Nintendo, however, confirmed that nothing will be revealed at E3 in June.
Such as reports Bloomberg, Nintendo managed to disappoint analysts, investors and possibly several gamers this week. The recent earnings of the Japanese company revealed a significant drop in profits, compared to the initial forecast. Analysts expected organic profits of ¥ 350 billion yen (≈2,8 billion euros), but Nintendo only caught 260 billion yen (≈2,1 billion euros).
Switch sales were also disappointing. Analysts forecast 18,5 million, but Nintendo expects to reach 18 million in sales this year. This is a relative increase from the 17 million of 2018, something that does not ring the alarm bell, especially when one considers the prospect that Switch has for new system-seller games. For example the new Pokemon RPG from Game Freak.
The biggest disappointment, however, is the non-arrival of a new Switch. We have heard rumors that Nintendo is working on two new Switch models and that a smaller Switch would be released in the fall. None of this is out of the question, but E3 is typically intended for such announcements, which in the case of Nintendo is not what is required.
