According to what company executives told investors while reporting earnings results, the program will be phased out in some regions where the ad-supported programs are available. The start will be in Canada and the United Kingdom in the second quarter of this year.
The basic plan costs $ 11,99 and the instantly cheapest ad-free option $15,49 per month. Otherwise, subscribers will have to pay $ 6,99 per month for the basic ad-supported plan or $22,99 per month for the level Premium.
At Greece this package costs 10,99 € / month, while there is also the original package with 7,99 € / month, which has limitations in numbers of display screens and image quality. Although the change does not affect us yet, in the future it may also extend to our country.
The program with ads now represents the 40% of all registered Netflix members in our ad markets. So, we plan to completely withdraw our basic package in some of these countries, starting with Canada and the United Kingdom in the second trimester, continuing from there.
Netflix also announced that it has added 13,1 million subscribers during the last quarter of 2023, bringing its total number to 247 million worldwide.
