The good news is that everything went according to plan and the Ingenuity propellers were able to spin for the first time, giving the drone the necessary boost to lift for about 30 seconds!
This is how NASA scientists certified that Ingenuity is able to fly, something that would happen on April 9, but the people in charge of the mission decided to postpone the short flight, as they needed more data that his drone Mars Perseverance will be able to successfully complete this first mission.
This successful short flight was a test run and according to the Mars Perseverance team it is expected to take three more four tests, until Ingenuity can "fly" normally and for a longer period of time. If nothing else this will be another historic moment in the history of space exploration!
