Πday from Huawei Mate 20 Pro which was just announced in London, the company also presented its expected smartwatch, Huawei Watch GT.
It has a classic design with a round watchface and is made of 316L stainless steel. It has two "crown" type buttons for navigating its menu and ceramic bezels, while overall it has quite a "serious" style, but without becoming "boring". Leather straps also help, which can be replaced by synthetics.
Its screen has a diagonal 1,39", the panel is AMOLED and on the back has one heart rate sensor. The Watch GT does not have Google Wear OS (which seems to be gradually losing market power), but a Huawei proprietary operating system, named OS Lite. According to the company, the smartwatch can withstand up to 2 weeks without charging and up to 22 hours with continuous recording of physical activity (GPS, heart rate, always-on screen), numbers which are quite impressive for any category of smart watch. If you want maximum autonomy, you can "catch" the 30 days, turning off the alarms and all the sensors, although this means that you will essentially use it as a simple clock, mainly.
AI has also found its way to this product, specifically to the heart rate sensor. The Trueseen 3.0 is a technology that uses algorithms to continuously improve the accuracy of the sensor, in terms of the user wearing the wearable. In addition, we have smart tracking of your sleep quality and backstage switching between power-saving and performance mode when needed.
The Huawei Watch GT can detect many types of physical activity (of course swimming) and to "guide" the user safely, constantly detecting his pulses and pushing him to the point of intensity that is ideal for him. Connects to Android and iOS smartphoness, using only the Huawei health app, although it will not support 3rd party apps, so Huawei will essentially be the one to define its functionality.
The Huawei Watch GT will be available soon in Greece against € 249, while it will be given andas a gift with every pre-order of the Mate 20 Pro, until November 1st.
