Σin direct competition with technology giants, Samsung and Apple,, enters the Huawei launching it its own "weapon" for the Christmas consumer battle that goes by the name Mate 20 Pro.
The new premium device that exceeds in turn 1.000 euros, brings to the fore a new category of smartphones, the intelligent phones, as identified by the company.
The new phone, which was recently announced at an event in London, is indeed in the top of the class thanks to the new Kirin 980 processor, the even better camera than the P20 Pro, the improved battery and other innovative features.
It should be noted that the Mate 20 Pro will be placed on the Greek shelves on November 1 and following the trend that wants manufacturers to release more and more expensive phones will cost 1049 euros.
New look
In terms of appearance, the Mate 20 Pro comes with a 6,4-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 3120x1440 pixels. Noticeable difference of the device with all previous models is that it has curved edges while there is no power button at the bottom. Instead the fingerprint reader is located under the screen glass at the bottom of the phone. Thanks to this innovation the screen of the device actually has extremely thin margins.
To unlock the device, the user only has to tap at the bottom of the screen or use the face recognition function, face ID.
Smarter and better camera
Although the Mate series is oriented towards professional use and mainly focuses on performance and functionality, in this model the company has also given priority to the camera, one of the primary features that consumers are looking for.
Having already succeeded in betting on the photo from the P20 Pro, the Mate 20 Po promises to impress users even more.
To achieve this, it has a triple camera on the back, in collaboration with Leica. The camera has 3 lenses, color, telephoto and wide-angle, 40, 8 and 20 megapixels respectively, while it has also improved the artificial intelligence applications by recognizing even more scenes and adding further functions. For example it not only recognizes that you are photographing food but can calculate its weight to tell you the calories depending on the amount you have on the plate. In addition, it makes excellent macro shots at a distance of up to 2,5 cm from the lens, while thanks to AI Cinema Mode, users can intervene in the shades, brightness and saturation of their videos to instantly change the style of their content.
The scanning function of XNUMXD objects is also impressive. For example, you can always take a toy, scan it from all sides with the instructions given to you by the mobile phone and then bring it to life by placing it next to you on the camera, putting it to run, dance, and much more!
Autonomy up to two days with moderate use
Its performances in autonomy are also very good. We already knew in September when the new Kirin 980 processor was announced that the new Mate 20 Pro would come with significant performance improvements.
Huawei's first 7-nanometer chipset has been boosted in terms of artificial intelligence while better managing the battery, which has a capacity of 4200 mAh and according to estimates can last up to two days with normal use and definitely a day after hard work .
As mentioned in the information that had been leaked all the previous time, the device includes fast charging (Super Charge) with the 40W charger that it includes, even managing to charge 70% within half an hour and the wireless charging (Huawei Wireless Quick Charge).
Otherwise the device has water and dust resistance, following the IP68 standard.
As for the memory, the model that will come to Greece will have 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage space with the possibility of expansion via nano card up to 256 GB, which, however, will be sold as a separate accessory.
Given the professional "nature" of the phone, Huawei has added the possibility of wireless connection to a screen, in order to function as a computer unit. Once connected, the on-screen interface changes and gets closer to that of a Windows PC than to a device running Android 9.0 and the latest version of Huawei EMUI.
