Η Hewlett Packard has just unveiled its new convertible HP Specter Folio laptop, which "combines style, flexibility and mobility," according to the company. What immediately makes the HP Specter Folio stand out is the genuine leather cover, with the laptop also being very thin and easy to carry.
The leather chosen by HP, is described as "100 percent chromed tan, full-grain leather" and in addition to the elegance and luxury it gives to HP Specter Folio, is high-strength and can help reduce the effects of a computer crash. The interested buyer will be able to choose between two shades, Cognac Brown and Bordeaux Burgundy.
The HP Specter Folio is designed for portability, quiet operation and autonomy, with HP opting for Intel Y-Series processors with just 5W TDP. More specifically, the buyer can choose between Intel Core i5-8200Y (1,3-3,9GHz) and Intel Core i7-8500Y (1,5-4,2GHz) with two cores and four threads each. The memory can be 8GB or 16GB type LPDDR3, while the storage space is NVMe type and with a capacity of 256GB up to 2TB.
In addition, the HP Specter Folio features Bang & Olufson speakers, Gigabit LTE with support for dual-eSIM and nanSIM, backlit keyboard and digital pen support. Its autonomy reaches 18 hours according to HP, while the design is fanless, in short, no fan is used to cool the components. As originally mentioned the HP Specter Folio is convertible, which means it can be folded to take the shape of a laptop. Its 13,3 ”screen supports touch, with the options available at the moment being either a classic FHD screen with 350 nits brightness or a low-consumption, 1W FHD screen with 400 nits brightness. The ability to purchase the HP Specter Folio with 4K screen resolution will be added later.
