Η Google has just announced that Assistant is finally available for Android Auto. It will appear in both the application and the supported cars and will be activated with the command "OK Google".
Google Assistant will support multiple commands while you drive. You can navigate to specific points of interest and use both Google Maps and Waze to your liking. Frequently asked questions like "what's on my calendar" or "call John" or "remind me to have dinner" are also supported.
Google Assistant will support similar command sets on a Smartphone. You can ask if a particular store is open and ask for instructions later. You can also play music, listen to the news, turn Bluetooth on / off, etc. Although Google Assistant has a typing function for smartphones, it does not have the same for Android Auto, to keep your hands on the wheel.
Although Android Auto is available in more than 30 countries, Google Assistant is initially launched in seven countries, including Australia, France, Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States.
