Since the beginning of May, Google has started experimenting with blocking the YouTube service, to those who use repeatedly Ad-Blockers to block ads from the videos shown
Today we have more details about the practice that the company will follow, with the aim of boosting the turnover it has from advertisements, but also to promote the subscription package YouTube Premium.
On his platform Reddit already there are several users who publish the warning messages that YouTube sends them about the use of ad-blockers.
As can be seen from the screenshot below, Google gives just three chances to each user to disable the ad-blocker or activate a subscription as a member of YouTube Premium, otherwise it will automatically block YouTube videos from playing.
As a justification for blocking Youtube, Google emphatically emphasizes that using Ad-Blockers is a direct violation of the YouTube Terms of Use, and the only way to get rid of ads is to opt for a subscription to YouTube Premium.
The same applies to the mobile version of the YouTube service, and it becomes clear that we are dealing with a universal measure that Google may implement in the future.
Google made an official statement on its website Bleeping Computer, pointing out that it is about a small experiment being conducted on a global scale to limit ad blockers, but so far has not set a timetable for the final and universal implementation of this new policy.
