To the big list is now added the Nokia, which ceases its activities in Russia, with a result of approx 2.000 employees to lose their job.

ΑBy the time Russia's military mobilization against Ukraine began, many large technology companies had decided to "freeze" their operations and comply with the sanctions imposed on the country.

It was clear to Nokia from the first days of the invasion of Ukraine that our continued presence in Russia was impossible., said on Twitter the CEO of Nokia, Peka Ludmark.

It is noted that this decision of the well-known telecommunications equipment manufacturing company follows the announcement of the competitor Ericsson which also decided to suspend its operations in Russia indefinitely and put its 600 employees on paid leave.

Russia represented "Less than 2%" Nokia turnover in 2021 and the group emphasizes that it maintains its financial forecasts for 2022 "due to strong demand in other areas».
