EETT: Made recommendations to the postal services for increases and advice for consumers

Η National Telecommunications and Post Commission (EETT), after gathering data from the postal market, finds that the emergency measures imposed in the country to deal with the spread of the coronavirus have caused problems for the companies that provide Postal services.


ΤThese problems focus particularly on performance times and customer service. In particular, postal companies have been called upon to adapt immediately to the large and unexpected changes in the flow of shipments and the increasing traffic of stores, the reduction of staff due to special permits and the rerouting of shipments due to interruption of domestic and international flights, etc.

EETT invites the postal service providers

  • To inform the citizens about the terms of their services, as they apply due to exceptional circumstances during the current period, by any appropriate means (eg website, announcements in stores, www.pricescope.gr) and make every effort to restore normalcy.
  • To deal with emergency operating conditions, in the most appropriate way, observing all the instructions of the Ministry of Health and EODY for the protection of staff and consumers, without passing on to the latter any increase in their operating costs, showing social solidarity and contributing to Or this way in the joint effort to deal with the pandemic.

Recommends to consumers

a. for sending postal items

To contact the provider of their choice in order to be informed about the expected delivery time as well as about any suspension of deliveries to a specific destination.

Contact details of all providers are available at www.eett.gr in unit Postal services / Licensing - Register of Postal Companies.

b. for the receipt of postal items

If they consider that, for security reasons, they do not want to sign for the receipt of a postal item, the distributor must certify the delivery himself and record their details. The delivery certificate can be sent electronically to the sender, while the delivery details are kept electronically in the monitoring and tracking system of the company.
