These are the upcoming flagships with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC

Η Qualcomm revealed today, that its new platform Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, will be adopted by global OEM manufacturers, such as: ASUS, iQOO, Motorola, OnePlus, OPPO, Redmi, SHARP, Sony, Vivo, Xiaomi, MEIZU and ZTE


Today Qualcomm unveiled its new flagship smartphone, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. Qualcomm's new processor will be available in several flagships from various OEMs, which will be released in end of 2022 and throughout 2023.

Qualcomm has claimed that the new SoC will offer up to 35% higher efficiency and 40% better energy efficiency.

Shortly after the announcement of Qualcomm's new SoC, some of the Smartphone manufacturers have confirmed the release of phones with the new SoC, and this list includes various models from Motorola, Xiaomi, OPPO, Vivo, OnePlus etc. Let's take a quick look at the list of phones that are confirmed or rumored to launch with the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.

The Smartphones that will get the top processor

Qualcomm has revealed that its new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 platform will be adopted by the ASUS, iQOO, Motorola, OnePlus, OPPO, Redmi, SHARP, Sony, Vivo, Xiaomi, MEIZU and ZTE.

Motorola Moto X40

Motorola has confirmed that its upcoming flagship, the Moto X40 , will feature the new Snapdragon 8 series SoC. This flagship is expected to launch in China later this year, while the phone is likely to launch in India and other markets as Edge 40 Pro.

The phone is likely to feature a triple camera setup at the rear. It will feature a primary camera at 50MP, an ultrawide camera at 50MP and a telephoto camera at 12MP. There will be a front Selfie camera on the 60MP. The phone is also said to feature 6,7-inch OLED curved OLED with a renewal rate of 165 Hz. There will be fast charging support on 68w and battery at 5000mAh.

OnePlus 11 5G

The upcoming OnePlus 11 5G has been officially confirmed to feature the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The company did not reveal any other details. The OnePlus 11 Pro rumored to release on January of 2023, and will debut as OnePlus 11. Some previously leaked renders reveal that the OnePlus flagship will feature a triple camera setup and an LED flash inside the circular camera module integrated into the back.

The phone is rumored to feature a new primary camera sensor at 50MP (Sony IMX890) along with an ulrawide camera at 48MP and a telephoto camera at 32MP. There will be one 6,7 inch curved AMOLED display with refresh rate support in 120 Hz. The phone is also said to be powered by a battery at 5000 mAh with fast charging support on 100 W.

Vivo X90 Pro+ 5G

The Vivo X90 Pro+ 5G it could very well be the first smartphone with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The device will be launched at an event to be held on November 22 in China. An entry made on Geekbench revealed to us that the Vivo X90 Pro+ 5G it draws power from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. In the same listing it was also revealed that the phone will have 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of internal storage.

Xiaomi 13 Series

The Xiaomi 13 series, specifically the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro they are likely to be equipped with the new Snapdragon SoC. Xiaomi, without revealing the name of the device, has confirmed that its upcoming flagship will feature the new Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC.

Both devices are likely to launch in China on December of 2022, while the launch of the series in India and other markets worldwide may take place on 1st quarter of 2023.

OPPO FIND X6 PRO

OPPO also confirmed that the next phone in the series Find X will feature the new SoC Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Rumors claim that the Find the X6 Pro will be one of the devices that will have the new SoC from Qualcomm.

This device is likely to pack a battery at 5000mAh with fast charging in 100w and wireless charging support at 50w. It will feature a triple camera setup with the primary camera (Samsung GN5) at 50MP, an ultrawide camera at 13MP and telephoto camera at 12MP. The device is likely to pack a battery at 5000 mAh with fast charging support on 120 W.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Series

Samsung is expected to announce the S23 series on January of 2023. Qualcomm has confirmed that all devices in the series Galaxy S23 that will be released globally will feature the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.

The Galaxy S23 lineup will include three devices. The Galaxy S23 5G will be the cheapest device in the series, with 6,1 inch AMOLED screen in 120Hz, and a triple camera setup at 50MP. ZTE Axon 50 Series

Η ZTE also confirmed that its upcoming flagship phones, most likely its series axon 50, will get the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. Unfortunately, more details about the phone's specifications are not known at this time.

Realme GT 5 Series

Η Realme is likely to launch its next flagship with the new SoC, and the GT5 Pro may be the first device to get it. Realme has not confirmed this information in any detail.
