In a recent scam discovered by Malwarebytes , cybercriminals created a website called "Corona Antivirus - the best protection in the world" (Corona Antivirus - World's best protection), who tries to trick users into allegedly installing one antivirus software which is supposed to have the potential to protect users from infecting their computers with a real virus. The creators of the website even gave more details about how their application works, saying:
"Scientists from Harvard University are working on a special development of an AI software to fight the virus, using a Windows application. Your computer may be actively protecting against Coronaviruses (Cov) while this application is running."

While most users will immediately realize that there is no way for any kind of software to protect them from being infected with the coronavirus, there is a possibility that some will fall into their trap as cyber criminals have taken the necessary steps to make their page look legal and harmless.

Malwarebytes has discovered a control panel for this BlackNET botnet, and complete source code for this BlackNET Toolkit (malware) was published in GitHub a month ago and some of its features include developing DDoS attacks, taking screenshots, stealing Firefox cookies, stealing saved passwords, implementing a keylogger, executing scripts and stealing Bitcoin wallets.
It's important, then, that all users keep their computers up to date and careful when downloading and installing new software, to avoid falling victim to the numerous coronavirus scams currently available on the Internet.
