Η Asus disables easy unlock Bootloader on her Smartphones, starting with Zenfone 9 and Zenfone 10
According to several users who contacted the company's technical support, they were informed that bootloader unlock is now disabled on Zenfone 9 and it won't work at all on Zenfone 10.
Unlocking the bootloader allows tech enthusiasts to modify the existing software on their devices or install various ROMs from third-party developers who are usually members of XDA Developers. Asus was one of the companies that promoted easy Bootloader unlocking on all its Smartphones, but now it seems that the company is changing its policy and discontinuing its support for Bootloader unlocking on its devices.
So far we have not received any official information on the matter which could shed more light on why the company changed its stance.
Asus confirmed some time ago that it will update until the 3st quarter of 2023 the Software Tool it has for Bootloader Ulock, so that it also supports all the new devices that have been released recently, and is available when the Zenfone 10 will be released on the market.
The company's support team at Telegram didn't know anything about this issue and it raises a lot of questions about how ASUS handles their Support Team.
