Dear Xiaomi fans, as a human-centric operating system designed and tailored to connect personal devices, cars and smart home products into a smart ecosystem, the Xiaomi HyperOS places primary emphasis on safety.
To ensure a safe and stable experience for our users, the bootloader unlock permission it will only be available to certain users after upgrading to Xiaomi HyperOS. However, unlocking the bootloader can compromise the security of devices running Xiaomi HyperOS and lead to data leakage. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding and support!
The new Bootloader unlock rules are as follows:
- For regular users, it is highly recommended to leave the bootloader locked (default state) and don't unlock him.
- For enthusiasts who want to customize their phones and are fully aware of the risks associated with unlocking devices, you can apply for an unlock license through the Xiaomi community. Stay tuned to the Xiaomi community which will be accessible soon on the Xiaomi Community app and the new rules for Bootloader Unlock will be published soon on the app page as well.
- The previous operating systems such as MIUI 14, still retain unlockability, but users who have unlocked Bootloader, will no longer be able to receive updates on Xiaomi HyperOS if they leave their devices unlocked.
