The AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT graphics card is based on the same GPU RDNA 2 architecture that powers the rest of the Radeon RX 6000 series. The main difference is that The GPU that AMD decided to appear in the Radeon RX 6900 XT is the fully activated variant of the fastest chip they have ever designed for gaming and, therefore, is known as “Big Ships“. It is the largest gaming chip AMD has ever built with an integration scale FinFET 7nm and has an upgraded architecture that offers much higher performance and efficiency per watt.
The AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT is powered by Navi 21 XTX GPU and will replace the Radeon VII as AMD's flagship graphics card. According to AMD, Radeon RX 6900 XT mounts to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 graphics cards and has top specifications, brand new features and amazing price points for the performance they offer.
The AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT will be available with the Navi 21 XTX GPU, which is the fully activated matrix with 80 Compute Units or 5120 SPs. The card will also have memory GDDR6 16 GB into a 256-bit channel interface, total bandwidth 512 GB / s and speeds base clock 2015 MHz and boost 2250 MHz in the reference specifications.
The graphics card also features revolutionary technology infinity cache AMD to boost in-game FPS by helping with graphics memory and bandwidth. The card will have TBP 300W with factory overclocked models that push it over 350W and will arrive later.
In the performance metrics displayed by AMD, The Radeon RX 6900 XT with Rage Mode and Smart Access Memory enabled has equivalent performance and even better performance in some cases than the faster GeForce RTX 3090 graphics card of NVIDIA. The difference here is that AMD solution not only has higher performance, but also at a lower price of US $ 500.

As for the plans, the cooling design of the Radeon RX 6900 XT flagship looks amazing with the red and black to prevail. The card has triple axial technology fan assembly on the cover and a large aluminum heatsink under the fans.
The card has one Radeon logo with LED lighting on the side where there is a large gap so that the fans expel the hot air. This design is very reminiscent of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 20 series Founders Edition. The card will have 8-pin dual socket and display ports will include USB Type-C (VirtualLink), 1 HDMI and 2 DisplayPort connections.
The card also has a fancy back plate along with a retaining arm to hold the heatsink in place. The GPU Radeon RX "Big Navi" seems to come with it standard 2-slot reference design (2x PCIe slots) which is the same as NVIDIA's flagship RTX 3080 but not as large as the GeForce RTX 3090 triple slot.
AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT graphics cards will be available from 8 December. The AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT has price US $ 999 and is expected to be the only reference model for this year.
