Η AMD last Thursday announced the Radeon RX 5500 XT graphics card for the DIY (retail) market, available exclusively through its partners (ASUS, MSI, GIGABYTE etc.).
Η card is based on silicon 7nm “Navi 14” and has exactly the same number of cores as the RX 5500 released in October for the OEM market. This means that only 22 of the 24 RDNA compute units are enabled and the XT version does not improve anything further.
Other features include 1.408 stream processors, 88 TMUs, 32 ROPs and 128-bit wide GDDR6 memory interface. The RX 5500 XT, however, will be faster than the RX 5500 as it achieves "Game Clocks" 1717 MHz, while the RX 5500 comes with versions that achieve 1670 MHz. Also the timings "Boost Clocks" for the 5500 XT reach 1845 MHz.
The Radeon RX 5500 XT is coming in two versions, one with 4GB memory and one with 8 GB. Both versions use 14 Gbps GDDR6 over a 128 bit bandwidth. The 4 GB version typically uses 8 Gbit chips, while the 8 GB version uses high density 16 Gbit chips.
AMD costs RX 5500 XT (4GB) at $ 169,99 and RX 5500 XT (8GB) at $ 199,99. The cards compete with a range of Nvidia cards, including the GeForce GTX 1650 and GTX 1650 Super.
