One category of technological products that is definitely on the way to extinction are tablets.
ΜWith the advent of folding phones, which are expected to feature an extended screen area, with ease of use that we have not yet seen so far, tablets will surely lose their useful value.
Apple's iPad is almost a separate category by itself and besides, the rest of the tablet market (Android) is in recession. Every year now 1-2 interesting devices appear in this category and can hardly attract the interest of consumers again. There are many reasons for this course, but the main one is definitely the screens we now find on smartphones.
The sizes have increased so much that along with the smaller and smaller bezels (margins at the edge of the screen), the user has much larger areas at his disposal to enjoy and work, to the point that he does not need an additional device. The appearance of folding phones that will reach 7 inches and more in their "unfolded" form certainly exceed the needs of consumers.
Tablets made sense when our cell phone reached 4 inches by force. For some time now, however, we have even had mid-range smartphones with 6-inch screens, remaining affordable.
Folding phones will mean the final end of tablets, as they will be able to penetrate the market and fall at "tangible" prices for the average user.
