Lin Bin: He talks in an interview about Xiaomi's huge growth in the field of photography, but also about the "hidden projects" that are coming!

H Xiaomi is still one of the only companies in China that has met so much great recognition and growth in global markets in such a short time.

Ο Lin Bin, one of the founders of Xiaomi, gave an interview earlier today, shortly after its release Mi CC9 Pro, and reveals details of the structural changes that have taken place at Xiaomi in recent years.

This is also the first time that Lin Bin gives a media interview as a keynote speaker at a product presentation event, and says he would rather be in the company's research labs with his team than be the keynote speaker and product presenter as at today's event

As he said Lin Bin, faced a number of organizational restructuring problems , which led him to focus more on the company's Research and Development.

Following the interview, he went on to report on the internal changes that have taken place in the company in recent years, such as the creation of a special department that would deal exclusively with improving the performance of the cameras that the company's Smartphones have, but also team expansion R&D (Research and Development).

While the company before 2016 had about 400 employees in the R&D sector, now they have added more than 3700 new skilled employees to the same team. In addition, Xiaomi has opened new research and development centers in places like Beijing, Nanjing, Shanghai and Bangalore. The biggest change in the company, however, was Xiaomi's emphasis on strengthening and developing Xiaomi's camera division, the which now seems to bear fruit that is evident to all.

In May of 2018, Lei Jun sent an internal letter to Xiaomi employees. In the letter, he stated that Xiaomi will set up a separate camera division in the mobile division and will focus on using the company's resources to produce better cameras for the company's Smartphones. Zhu Dan was then appointed general manager of this camera department.

Lin Bin also revealed that Xiaomi MIX Alpha was a very radical attempt to change things even inside Xiaomi. He had almost given up on this project when R&D teams managed to build a fully functional device. "I have confidence in Xiaomi's research and development teamSaid Lin Bin.

In the latest organizational restructuring done by Xiaomi, the Lin Bin was appointed Vice President of the company, but in addition to his new duties, he will continue to serve it as executive director and president of the company, but also responsible for the management of the R & D department.

According to him, Xiaomi's work style has changed before, and Xiaomi pays more attention to technological trends and changes.

He then referred to the new Mi CC9 Pro, and as he mentioned "It is more difficult to make a good camera than to make a new Smartphone".

According to him, although the new Mi CC9 Pro managed to catch up with the Huawei Mate 30 Pro at DxOmark , Lin Bin says they could have scored even better if he had two to three extra weeks for the R&D department to work on it.

Lin Bin revealed that The team, which specializes in improving cameras, has become more independent, and is experimenting with new built-in software and new algorithms to improve them even further. Currently, the camera department has 9 research and development centers around the world.

At the end of the interview, o Lin Bin implied that Xiaomi has much more "Project secretsWhich will start next year and as he stated next year the camera and imaging systems will be even better than we have seen so far with Mi CC9 Pro, which is seems to be absolutely crazy.
