It's been a few days since researchers at Forbes published an article who claimed that Xiaomi raised a worrying amount personal data from its browsers.
Η Xiaomi refused these claims, while releasing a new browser update that disables aggregate data collection while browsing incognito mode (incognito mode) by default.
Naturally, as soon as Forbes published the article, it caused quite a stir in the tech community. Xiaomi was quick to respond to the article's claims, strongly denying that it was collecting personal data from users, and explaining how its products complied with international data protection standards and various certifications.
One of the claims made by Forbes is that Xiaomi continued to collect this information even when their browsers were in incognito mode (incognito mode). Xiaomi not only claimed this to be false, but even published their software code to prove that the only data they collected was aggregated browser data.
Now the company in a move to gain the trust of its user base, has gone one step further and today released a new update to all browsers. Update allows users to turn on / off the aggregate data collection when they are in incognito mode (incognito mode) and is disabled by default. This will give users further control over their data sharing with Xiaomi.
The update will be released to all users from today for all three products, the pre-installed one My Browser, My Browser Pro and Mint Browser.
You can download it My Browser Pro and Mint Browser from the following links in Google Play Store.
