Η Xiaomi it seems that he finally understood that the amount of megapixels does not determine the quality of a camera sensor, and now turns to 50MP sensors.
Η For the past three years, Xiaomi has been making extensive use of its main camera sensors 108 MP for its Smartphones, including My 11 but also of the recent Mix 4.
However, on other camera devices, such as telephoto lenses but also in super-wide lenses, the company continued to use rather low resolution sensors, which were often in their range 8 - 13 MP.
Now according to the famous Leakster, Digital Chat Station, the company for its next generation Xiaomi 12 (remember that rename from "Mi" to "Xiaomi"), will equip the devices of the new series with a triple camera layout with sensors at 50 MP.
That means the coming Xiaomi 12 will have a sensor on 50MP for the main camera, 50MP for the ultrawide lens (super-wide angle) and 50MP on the periscope lens.
This sensor change to 50MP for the camera with a viewfinder, will allow Xiaomi to provide smooth and high quality optical zoom in the range 5 to 10x. Xiaomi had released smartphones in the past that had spy cameras with 10x zoom, but at this focal length the result was impractical and did not have the expected results, and the reason was that the sensors used by the company were only in the range of 8 - 13 MP.
Lately there have been rumors that the company will supply the Xiaomi 12Ultra with Samsung's new sensor in 200MP, but the company is still in the process of developing and designing the Xiaomi 12 series, so the final specifications for the cameras and the overall specifications of the devices in terms of hardware may be different.
