ΤThe Pixel 3 XL is officially here and iFixit experts have dismantled the device, with some of its parts revealing their origins in relation to the company that made them.
Evidence from the iFixit teardown shows that while the Pixel 2 XL OLED display was made by LG, Google seems to have chosen Samsung for the Pixel 3 XL display, which is properly tuned with low reflection and good visibility down from bright light outdoors. In addition, it supports HDR, which means that it allows HDR playback of video services such as Netflix.
As for the Pixel 3 XL main camera, it seems to have the Sony IMX363 sensor, with the quality of the shots being improved compared to the already very good quality of the Pixel 2 XL camera. Finally, the total score for the ease of repair of the Pixel 3 XL was 4/10, since in order to repair anything inside the device and to replace the screen or the back, it is necessary to do multiple disassembly, making the repair of the device a tough process.
