Η Qualcomm announced today on Mobile World Congress (2021), new Snapdragon 888 Plus SoC, with enhanced CPU and improved AI performance.
Τthe new Snapdragon 888 Plus SoC, is essentially an Overclocked version of it 888 Snapdragon SoC, and will power many of the premium smartphones that will be released by many OEM manufacturers later this year.
Η Qualcomm stated at the event that both SoCs (888 & 888 Plus) combine more than 130 technologies which are either announced or still under development. Its new variant SD888Plus comes with increased CPU performance. Specifically the clock in Arm Cortex-X1 CPU goes up from 2,84GHz who was in SD888, in 2,995GHz on SD888 Plus.

Qualcomm also announced that the first Smartphones to be equipped with Snapdragon 888 Plus SoC, will make their appearance from 3st quarter of 2021.
Qualcomm's new SoC offers two significant performance improvements, as we said above, the watch in the main Cortex-X1 CPU, goes up from 2,84GHz which was at SD888, at 2,995GHz.
Qualcomm also reports that the new processor has improved performance against 20% in AI, thus offering processing power that reaches 32 TOPsS, compared to 26 TOPS that he had in SD888.
The rest of the specifications of the new SoC remain the same as SD888, and that means the SD888Plus is made by the method of lithography in 5nm, and has the same X60 5G Modem and Adreno GPU 60.
Other features of the SoC include support for Bluetooth 5.2, in technology FastConnect 6900 Qualcomm, the ability to support dual camera from ISP, support in Snapdragon Elite Gaming etc.
Η Qualcomm confirmed that several companies are already working on the development of new Smartphones that will be equipped with SD888Plus, and the first OEM manufacturers to release Smartphones with this SoC in the 3rd quarter of this year will be: Asus, Xiaomi, Motorola, Honor, Vivo etc.
