Earlier today, reports from various sources around the world noted that Samsung postponed the training of its employees at Galaxy fold, and at the same time canceled the planned events for the presentation of the device in China.
ΝLet us recall that its official presentation Galaxy fold was scheduled to take place on April 24 and 26.
Shortly after the rumors about the postponement of the events, the Samsung issue an official statement postponing its presentation Galaxy fold.
As you recall, last week some of the Galaxy Folds given to Reviewers showed catastrophic damage to the device screen.
The cause of these problems, as far as we know, was a problem with the folding mechanism, but also with the fact that some of the users of the device accidentally removed the protective film on the screen, as they confused it with a simple screen protector. Disposable that is pre-installed on many smartphones nowadays.
Samsung's official statement explains that the company must make any necessary improvements to the Galaxy Fold in order to offer customers the best possible experience.
Apart from the above, Samsung did not set a new release date for the device, but as it stated, it will be announced "in the coming weeks".
Samsung initially associates damage to the screen, due to the areas at the top and bottom of the device that are exposed to impact with other objects.
See the full statement below:
We are encouraged by the excitement around the Galaxy Fold.
While many reviewers shared with us the vast potential they see, some also showed us how the device needs further improvements that could ensure the best possible user experience. To fully evaluate this feedback and run further internal tests, we have decided to delay the release of the Galaxy Fold.
We plan to announce the release date in the coming weeks. Initial findings from the inspection of reported issues on the display showed that they could be associated with impact on the top and bottom exposed areas of the hinge.
There was also an instance where substances found inside the device affected the display performance. We will take measures to strengthen the display protection. We will also enhance the guidance on care and use of the display including the protective layer so that our customers get the most out of their Galaxy Fold.
We value the trust our customers place in us and they are always our top priority. Samsung is committed to working closely with customers and partners to move the industry forward. We want to thank them for their patience and understanding.
Samsung will therefore take steps to ensure that users understand that the screen protector must not be removed from the screen. At the same time, it will try to enhance the screen protection in some way.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold was originally scheduled to be released to the public on April 26 in some major markets, such as the US, China and South Korea. At the moment no one knows how many weeks later the device will be available on the shelves.
As far as Mate X Huawei will reportedly go on sale in early June, but new rumors suggest that its release will take place in September.
On the other hand, Huawei had never set a release date, as Samsung had done.
Now considering the postponement by Samsung, the race is to see which phone maker will be the first to launch its device on the market, it is uncertain.
