The SelfieType An Invisible Virtual Keyboard Based on Artificial Intelligence and Gesture Recognition Technology will be presented by Samsung.
ΤSamsung's C-Lab division is expected to introduce some futuristic technologies at CES 2020 and one of the ones that may be of interest to the public has already been released. This is SelfieType, a virtual keyboard based on Artificial Intelligence and Gesture recognition technology.
At first glance, SelfieType resembles virtual keyboards we've seen in the past work (or at least try…) with the help of a projector. This is not the case, however. In the case of SelfieType, there is no keyboard display, but the movements of the user's fingers are monitored and a correspondence is made with the keyboard that appears on the smartphone screen, while the user essentially types on an invisible keyboard.
For fast matching, the front camera of the smartphone and the image-motion recognition function in combination with the Artificial Intelligence are activated. On the plus side, it does not require any special equipment to run SelfieType, so we may see it in a future version of One UI for Samsung smartphones.
