Ο Zack Nelson (aka JerryRigEverything) gives us an idea of the durability of its new foldable smartphone Samsung, who goes through his usual torture.
ΑZack's tests have sparked a very interesting discussion about the overlap Ultra Thin Glass for the Galaxy Z Flip flexible screen, as it is the first time we see flexible glass. Things, however, do not seem to be exactly like that. As Zack observes, UTG is in turn covered by several layers of plastic, making it look more plastic than glass.
In terms of durability, the screen of the Galaxy Z Flip is very soft and sensitive, so it is very easy to scratch it even with your fingernails. The usual engraving level is between 6 and 7 in Mohs scale for most smartphones, but in the case of the Galaxy Z Flip there are scratches from level 2! In addition, Zack managed to drill holes in the screen without showing any signs of "breaking" the glass.
Samsung has already posted the issue on the website The Verge with the following clarifying statement:
The screen may bend, but you must handle it with care. The Galaxy Z Flip also has a protective coating, similar to that of the Galaxy Z Fold.
Otherwise, the Galaxy z flip is quite resilient to the bending test and Zack says it really is excellent work on the hinge of the device.
Note that the Samsung will offer everyone the ability to change the screen with cost $ 119 (for once) and a free special screen protector that will theoretically significantly reduce the risk of scratches.
The Samsung galaxy z flip will be available at Greece by February 21 2020 at a price €1599.
