New security research from Trend Micro reveals that a number of 17 apps have been loaded with malware and they aim to steal your data
Δseventeen total applications (apps) of the Android operating system, which they had hacked into Google Play Store, were found to contain the malware dropper-as-a-service (DaaS). The apps, detected by Trend Micro, can collect and steal data from Android mobile users and cause other problems for their unsuspecting users.
The data that the following dangerous apps try to steal includes your bank account information, PINs of passwords from various services, and more.
These apps can also intercept text messages on your mobile phone and infect it with harmful malware. Such apps that bypass Google's Play Store security while carrying malware result in a model dropper-as-a-service (DaaS), and thus these applications are called dropper apps. Trend Micro security researchers revealed a list of 17 such apps, which could be installed on your phone and may steal your valuable data.
The list of dropper apps that can steal your money
Last year Trend Micro found a new version of it DawDropper code malware to be available at Google Play Store in several applications that were infected. Although the Google removed them from the Play Store, these apps may still be on your Android device and we would advise you to remove them immediately.
