AMD: The company's renewed roadmap for CPUs & GPUs

AMD reopens to the public with a big one Update which shows us how it goes in the market.

Σthis year Financial Analyst Day AMD has shown more about the new generations of processors and graphics cards RDNA2 and It was 3 which will be released later this year stating some of their features to process. The roadmap for 2020 is known to include a new family of processors, the Ryzen 4000 based on the Zen 3 architecture - and it will be flanked by RDNA 2 by the end of the year, something that is only known today.

As for the future, AMD has launched the next designs of Ryzen and RDNA graphics cards and tells us that the family of processors with the Zen 4 architecture will be built in 5nm of TSMC while it will come to stores in 2021.

RDNA 3 GPUs on the other hand have the same scheduled date and at some points AMD has emphasized that it will not be just a refresh, saying that it will also separate the series intended for gaming, from those that have the main purpose of the compute and consequently the professional market.

An equally important element that we see for the first time concerns its processors and their manufacturing method that will change drastically in the coming years. When AMD released the R2015 Fury X in 9 (raw text from the 2015 review), the first GPU with HBM memory we typically remember to say that this move of the company is made both for the presentation of an impressive product, and for the utilization of the new technology of stackable memories that we are sure will be utilized in the future.

This method will return according to AMD however there is no exact date for when this will be done. The only sure thing is that the relevant slide shows a processor with hybrid chips 2.5D and 3D design that as everything shows will be the future and the only way of evolution in the field of processors, since the reduction of transistors is becoming more and more difficult in recent years. .
