Over the past few weeks, there have been many leaks about the launch of an additional variant of the RedMi A1 named Redmi A1 +, but this device is now official in Kenya
Last month, Xiaomi debuted Redmi A1 in India, the company's second smartphone with Android Go after the Redmi go released in 2019.
Xiaomi Kenya has announced its arrival redmi a1 plus in the country on October 7, however the device is already available for sale in the store Jumia.
Redmi A1 Plus specifications
Essentially the Remdi A1+ is the same as Redmi A1 and the only difference is the presence of a fingerprint sensor placed on the back of the device.
The device is available 6,52 inch IPS (LCD) screen with analysis 1600 x 720 pixels (HD+) and waterdrop notch for the Selfie camera. The screen of the device has 20: 9 ratio and offers support for touch sample rate at 120 Hz, has a maximum brightness level at 400 nits and covers 70% of the color gamut NTSC.
The phone is equipped with Mediatek's Helio A22 SoC in combination with LPDDR4x RAM and eMMC 5.1 for storage. It "runs". Android 12 Go Edition and draws energy from a battery at 5.000 mAh which supports wired charging at 10 W.
The device has a back main camera at 8MP and a depth sensor in 0,3MP, while the front Selfie camera has a 5MP sensor. Connectivity options include; dual-SIM, 4G, WiFi single-band, Bluetooth 5.0, GNSS and MicroUSB port. The device also has a dedicated MicroSD card slot and a 3,5mm headphone jack.
The Redmi A1 + has dimensions 164,9 x 76,5 x 9,1 mm, weighs 192 gr of and is available in three color options in black, blue and green.
Price and availability
In Kenya, the redmi a1 plus costs KSh 10.345 (~$85) for memory configuration 3 GB + 32 GB and is already available for sale at Jumia in black and blue color variations.
