A few hours ago, the Qualcomm officially announced its first chip belonging to the series Snapdragon 700, and integrates 5G baseband.
Η Qualcomm said the mobile platform Snapdragon 700 Series 5G will be a SoC system with integrated 5G functions, which will support all large areas and frequency bands.
This is Qualcomm's first integrated 5G platform, built on the 7nm process, and supporting next-generation artificial intelligence features. It also includes some Gaming features (Snapdragon Elite Gaming).
Qualcomm has also confirmed the names of some Smartphone makers that will use this chip, and of course Xiaomi with RedMi is one of them.
Although the Qualcomm poster states that a total of 12 Smartphone manufacturers will use this chip, only 7 of them are eventually named, such as: Oppo, Realme, Redmi, Vivo, Motorola, HMD Global and LG Electronics.
According to Qualcomm, these brands will develop the embedded platform Snapdragon 700 Series 5G in future Smartphones, and while the new chip will be commercially available in the fourth quarter of 2019, the first Smartphones to use it will be available in 2020.
